Reviews about High Street Surgery
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I visited this doctors regarding a back injury I sustained at work, lifting heavy carpets. The first visit I thought went well, with what I later learnt was a trainee doctor who sent me for an x-ray. Upon my second visit I saw Dr Cox, for what I thought would be the results. After explaining what my problem was, Dr Cox said “are you always this animated!?” He continued to belittle me and made me feel like I was lying to him. He said I should never have been sent for an x-ray and also told me I am perfectly fine for work and I need to do “palates”. I left the surgery puzzled at why he would speak to me like this. After a couple of weeks of pain at work with the back problem, I called this doctors and insisted I was in real pain still, this time I saw a Mr Ahmed who is a partner in ownership of the doctors apparently. I requested the results of the initial x-ray and when Mr Ahmed looked at my x-ray, he then told me I have arthritis around my hip as well as very damaged muscles. This was the area of my lower back I was complaining the pain was. I’m horrified at the way Dr Cox felt he needed to speak to me, furthermore to find out I have arthritis and Dr Cox was not willing to asses me, or even look at the results of the x-ray. I have never had a day off work in 21 years of doing my trade, I know my own body and knew I had problems with my back. This is why I seaked medical advice, from what I thought was a caring & Professional doctors surgery. I needed a sick note, merely for a matter of days, just so I could go to an appointment to be assessed for my capability for work. I did get assessed and was told my results would be posted to me within a couple of weeks. After one month passed, I called about my results and was told “I had cancelled my claim”. I said I hadn’t! The lady said you did, you didn’t have a sick note. With my back injury, I have been let down with the whole system, simply because of Dr Cox’s assessment was totally negligent. As a result of how I was treated, my assessment went nowhere and I’m now left with arthritis whilst still in my mid 30’s and being a manual labourer. I gave myself 4 months off work to rest as I knew I was in pain, as I still am now. I didn’t receive any benefits because of Dr Cox’s actions and still had to pay my rent/bills and general living costs from savings. I never dreamed I would end up in a situation like this and feel totally let down and upset with the whole doctors scenario. It seems Dr Cox really doesn’t have much interest, as well as being such a rude man. I would not advise anybody seeing Dr Cox. I am now at a point where I am seeking true professional advice and questioning Dr Cox’s knowledge as a doctor through the correct legal channels. I didn’t ever want any negativity like this, alls I wanted was to be fit and healthy after seeing my family doctor. I’m so upset that a dr could treat any patient like this.by Karl Robert BurnsJune 12, 2017
